Lava Shark 5G Launched in India at ₹7,999 with Android 15

Lava launched the Shark 5G in India on May 23, 2025. It is powered by a 6nm octa-core Unisoc T765 chipset with 4GB RAM, also expandable by 4GB of virtual RAM. It is a dual rear camera setup including a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an LED flash, and a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and comes with a clean version of Android 15 with no bloatware in sight. Previously, Lava introduced its Shark series in March when it announced its 4G LTE variant in India.

The Lava Shark 5G is priced at ₹7,999 for the lone 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option. The smartphone comes in Stellar Blue and Stellar Gold colour options. Buyers can purchase it through Lava’s official online store as well as retail outlets across the country. The company also offers free at-home service support along with assistance at Lava’s retail locations nationwide. The device sports a 6.75-inch HD+ display (720×1600 pixels) with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

The octa-core Unisoc T765 chipset powering the phone reportedly scores over 4,00,000 on AnTuTu benchmarks. Storage can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card. The phone runs Android 15 straight out of the box. Camera-wise, the Shark 5G includes a 13MP AI-assisted dual rear camera system with an unspecified secondary sensor and LED flash. The front camera is 5MP. The battery supports 18W wired charging, but the box contains a 10W charger.

The phone features a glossy rear panel with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. Security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It measures 168.04 × 77.8 × 8.2 mm and weighs 200 grams.
