Coach Ernesto Valverde Praises His GoalKeeper Ter Stegen After El Classico
After a great victory over Real Madrid, FC Barcelona’s coach has praised his boys, especially his goalkeeper. Ter Stegen surely saved the day retaining a clean sheet for the match. Real Madrid’s hopes of retaining their La Liga title appeared to be fading fast. Goals from Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, and Aleix Vidal propelled Barcelona to a 3- 0 win in the ‘ Clasico ‘ on Saturday. Barcelona is 14- points clear of their rivals in the standings.
Real played a good first half dominating over Barcelona. Ter Stegan was the man who saved Ronaldo’s shot and kept the score 0-0. Also, he was forced into action due to Gareth Bale, while Karim Benzema hit the post in the first half.
Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde says Marc- Andre Ter Stegen is ” fundamental ” to their fortunes after Saturday s Clasico win over Real Madrid.

Valverde on Ter Stegan:Â
” Marc is fundamental for us for the saves he makes and because he is the player who starts our moves, ” Valverde said.
” We have a gap over our rivals but we do not think about that, just to keep picking up points and moving forward, ” Valverde added.
Barca’s comfortable win could hardly have been predicted. Madrid claimed a dominant two leg triumph in the Spanish Super Cup at the start of the season.
But, having avenged that 1- 5 aggregate humiliation, Valverde denied this was a personal victory for him over counterpart Zinedine Zidane.
” No, it is not a personal victory over Zidane. I haven ‘ t won anything, ” Valverde said.
Barcelona is the only unbeaten team in the league. They have taken a less active role than they have in recent games at the Bernabeu. Their best chances before the break falling to Brazilian midfielder Paulinho.
Meanwhile, the Spanish giants are already being investigated by Fifa after Atletico Madrid accused them of tapping up their French striker Antoine Griezmann.
