Raid 2 Box Office Collection Slips on Day 5: Ajay Devgn’s Thriller Feels the Heat After Strong Weekend

Ajay Devgn stormed back into cinemas with Raid 2, and the audience responded with thunderous applause over the first four days. But just like a star batter struggling after a blazing start, the Raid 2 Box Office Collection slowed on its fifth day. Raj Kumar Gupta’s sequel fired early with solid numbers, but Monday brought an unexpected dip. The film now eyes the crucial ₹100 crore milestone, but the race has tightened.

Weekend Blitz Pushes Early Numbers

Raid 2 Box Office Collection took flight with ₹19.25 crore on Thursday. Devgn fans showed up in big numbers again on Saturday and Sunday, with collections of ₹18 crore and ₹22 crore, respectively. These numbers placed Raid 2 well above competitors like Kesari 2, Jaat, and Sikandar. The movie had already notched ₹70 crore by Sunday, making it one of the best openers this season.

Sacnilk’s trade reports highlighted that even Friday’s ₹12 crore haul kept the momentum alive. The box office chart clearly favored the sequel’s gritty tone and Ajay’s commanding presence as IRS officer Amay Patnaik.

Fifth Day Slowdown Rings Alarm Bells

On Day 5, though, the story changed. Raid 2 Box Office Collection saw a concerning dip, registering only ₹4.8 crore across languages in India. This marked the first time the earnings dropped into single digits. Monday’s overall Hindi occupancy stood at just 12.54%, with Chennai (24.67%) leading the turnout. Mumbai and Pune clocked in at 15.33%, while Jaipur and Lucknow posted 14.67% and 13.67% respectively.

The total now rests at ₹76.05 crore India net, showing that weekday fatigue can impact even a strong starter. Fans might feel nervous as the ₹100 crore target seems more distant than it did just 48 hours ago.

Global Numbers Reflect Mixed Signals

Raid 2 Box Office Collection worldwide reached ₹95 crore by Sunday. That includes ₹71.25 crore India net and ₹10.25 crore overseas. While this suggests the film has global appeal, sustaining these returns depends heavily on how the movie performs through the week.

For a sequel riding on the high of Drishyam 2, which earned ₹239.67 crore, these fluctuations bring real-time tension. Ajay Devgn, however, knows how to weather storms, both on-screen and off. His upcoming sequel double—Son of Sardar 2 and De De Pyaar De 2—adds extra pressure on Raid 2 to finish strong.

Plot-Driven Action Meets Political Intrigue

Raid 2 brings back the iconic Amay Patnaik, a man built for battles against corruption. Known for leading 74 successful raids and surviving 74 transfers, Patnaik locks horns with a political heavyweight, Dadabhai—played with venom by Riteish Deshmukh.

The sequel amplifies intensity, with Patnaik navigating explosive revelations and dangerous political webs. Director Raj Kumar Gupta combines realism with urgency, adding an emotional layer without losing the action’s edge.

Stellar Cast Elevates the Conflict

Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Amit Sial join the ensemble, each adding depth to Patnaik’s war on corruption. But it’s Riteish Deshmukh’s shift to antagonist that grabs the spotlight.

Deshmukh explained his role in an interview with ANI: “It is not that I have ever thought that I have to play the role of an antagonist or do films. That depends on the film. There were at least 10-12 films in between, to which I said no, in which there was the role of an antagonist, because I did not like that story. It is not that I have to play the role of an antagonist or play the role of a big hero.”

New Challenger Arrives This Friday

Starting Friday, Raid 2 will face fresh competition from Bhool Chuk Maaf, a romantic comedy directed by Karan Sharma and starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. Backed by Dinesh Vijan, the man behind Stree 2, this new release may pull younger audiences and multiplex viewers away from Devgn’s serious narrative.

Raid 2 Box Office Collection will now depend heavily on its midweek hold and second weekend strength to push past ₹100 crore.

With five days completed, Raid 2 Box Office Collection stands at ₹79 crore domestically. Reaching the ₹100 crore benchmark remains possible, but the film must stabilize its weekday performance. Ajay Devgn’s previous sequel, Drishyam 2, earned ₹239.67 crore, setting a high bar.
