Lionel Messi had everyone hooked at him during the summer when he handed the transfer request to Barcelona. He wanted to leave the club after playing for the Blaugrana ever since.
Then-Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu refused to let him go and Messi decided to stay at the club rather than taking the matters to the court.
Messi’s form at the start of the season wasn’t good but he is slowing coming back to his best after breaking Pele’s record for the most no of goals for a single club.
Lionel Messi has now again given an interview, which in all probability will clear the air around his future to some extent. A clip of the interview has been revealed.
In the clip, you can see Messi saying: “It’s true that I am privileged because of everything I’m experiencing, but there are times when I would like to be anonymous and be able to enjoy going to a supermarket, a cinema or a restaurant.”
Messi hasn’t yet signed a contract extension with Barcelona and will be free to sign a pre-contract offer with any club in January. But a new president will be elected in Barcelona on 24th January which may prove to be vital in regards to Messi’s future at the club.
The entire interview will be released on Sunday, 27th December at 21.25 pm CET. It is expected that Messi will speak a lot about what exactly happened, and how he feels currently and his future at the club.
