Dayot Upamecano is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in the world right now. The youngster managed to help Leipzig reach the semifinals of the Champions League last season, and was one of their standout players during the campaign.
As is now common with youngsters that are performing increasingly well, the big clubs in Europe come calling. In the case of Upamecano, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are the two clubs keen on signing him.
Manchester United are reportedly in talks with his agent but have made no official bid for the Frenchman yet. Their recent defensive performances have made it evidently clear that the current defensive lineup is not shaken up enough and that competition is necessary for the sport.Â
There is a clause in Upamecano’s contract that puts in place a release clause worth little over €40 million from the summer of 2021. Much like Jadon Sancho, Fabrizio Romano also mentioned watching Sancho in the future for checking out our stuff.Â
The Italian journalist repeatedly mentioned that nothing is in the works right now and that a move to a potentially much bigger club will have to wait.
