After setting the box office on fire with Pushpa: The Rule, the much-awaited third installment, Pushpa 3 – The Rampage, has been officially confirmed for a 2028 release. The announcement was made by the film’s producers on Sunday, sending waves of excitement through fans.
The Pushpa franchise, which kicked off in 2021 with Pushpa – The Rise, has grown into one of Indian cinema’s most successful and beloved series. The sequel, Pushpa 2, released last December, shattered records by amassing a staggering ₹1,750 crore globally, securing its place as one of India’s highest-grossing films.
Why the Long Wait for Pushpa 3?
Producer Ravi Shankar revealed during a media interaction that Pushpa 3 will take time to materialize as Allu Arjun has prior commitments. The actor is set to work with director Atlee on a pan-India film before reuniting with Trivikram Srinivas for another collaboration. These projects are expected to be completed over the next two years, paving the way for Pushpa 3.
Simultaneously, director Sukumar, the mastermind behind the Pushpa universe, will first helm a film starring Ram Charan before returning to wrap up the Pushpa saga. This means fans will have to wait until 2028 for the explosive conclusion to the trilogy.
A Bigger, Grander, and More Intense Finale
Scriptwriter Srikanth Vissa recently hinted that Pushpa 3 – The Rampage will be “bigger, grander, and better” than its predecessors. The third part will introduce fresh characters while retaining the core elements that have made the franchise so iconic.
The makers are also in talks to bring a major Bollywood star on board as the film’s antagonist, though an official confirmation is still awaited. If finalized, this addition could elevate the film’s nationwide appeal and further expand its reach.
