After Samsung and LG, every other smartphone manufacturers are looking to launch a foldable flagship smartphone in the upcoming days. As per the reports from last week, there will be a total of four foldable smartphones are going to get launched from Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi combined in the second half of 2021. The most interesting part is that those three manufacturers are going to launch their first-ever foldable smartphone in the market. Recently, Vivo Mobile Communication has come up with a design patent for its upcoming foldable smartphone, showing the design and display of the device.
This patent from Vivo has titled ‘Display panel and mobile terminal’. Let’s try to break down the images. As per the design, it features an inward folding screen that is pretty similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 2. When you unfold it, it turns into a tablet. Another highlight of this device is that it will sport a unique hinge design with a silo for a stylus. So, it will be a foldable smartphone with a stylus.
From those images, we can have a clearer view of the stylus. The stylus has a tip made of soft rubber material to avoid scratches on the screen. There is a gap between the folding point and the display panel, which is called a silo. In that silo, you can place the stylus. Another good thing is that the silo is magnetic. So, when you place the stylus inside it, it will not fall from the silo, credit goes to its magnetic surface. But, if in case your stylus got damaged, you can replace it.
That’s all Vivo has shared about its upcoming foldable smartphone. This phone is likely to be launched in the second half of 2021. So, a long time is there, in which Vivo will surely share something more about this device.
