We already know the hot topic on the internet, which has everyone’s attention in the past weeks. The next-gen consoles are out of stock, and the stores where they are available are selling them at almost double their original value. But sources indicate that it is not just the consoles that are experiencing a shortage in supply. As we already know, the problem also has corroded companies like AMD and Nvidia, and it seems that they have their hands full with it.
But the problem is that the companies are unable to solve the supply constraints instead, but the various scalpers are also taking advantage of AMD’s new Big Navi cards. It includes the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT, and the same company’s vaunted Zen 3 desktop processors: Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 9 5900X, and the Ryzen 9 5950X.
Speaking of AMD, it’s Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 chips have a hugely high inflated price in the market. After the release of Ryzen 9 5950X, it was expected that the prices would certainly go down at a certain point. However, the price listed on eBay is still a whopping US$1,395.
Not only the Ryzen 5000 series, but reports indicate that the company’s Big Navi cards have been targeted by scalpers as well. Reports indicate that the cards approximately 454 units brought in US$477,930 worth in sales and has led to US$201,694 profit.
But AMD cards are not the only one that has been raking in prices for these 3rd party sellers. Nvidia’s RTX 30 series GPUs are the ones that seem to have heavy demands in the market and bring in big money. Reports indicate that scalpers have 15,224 units, and almost half of them belonged to the GeForce RTX 3080 SKU. And the cards are sold for US$699.
It has caused gamers to be dis-heartened as the much-anticipated cards are being inflated due to huge demand and lack of supply. The scrapples take advantage of the low supply constraints and are even increasing the prices to even more. It creates an imbalance in the market and causes the manufacturing companies to lose their market value.
