Previously there was a rumor about BioWare is going to show something at The Game Awards 2020, although anyone doesn’t have any idea about what it could be. But now we know what they were suggesting, it is a teaser trailer for the next game in the Mass Effect franchise. There is not much information about the new trailer, the trailer hints that this is going to be a direct sequel to the original Mass Effect Trilogy, instead of a narrative tangent like Mass Effect: Andromeda.
The teaser shows a journey through space, as several voices recount events related to the ME university’s history. Then it shows, somebody is walking over the surface of a frozen planet, who picks up debris then with an N7 logo on it. Then the camera captures a mystery figure, who is none other than Liara from the first three games of Mass Effect. We can expect that the new game will also be set in the Milky Way.
Casey Hudson from BioWare had confirmed Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and a new upcoming Mass Effect, in the last month.
“Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include single-player base content and DLC from ME, ME2, and ME3, plus promo weapons, armors, and packs – all remastered and optimized for 4k Ultra HD. It will be available in Spring 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with forward compatibility and targeted enhancements on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. More information to come in the new year!”
“Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the ME universe. We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next.”
BioWare confirmed the upcoming Mass Effect which is now in early development.
The last one from the series, Mass Effect: Andromeda, was released in 2017 which had featured a new cast.
