While not on the scale of last year’s Xbox Series X reveal, the 2020 edition of The Game Awards still had its fair share of impactful news and trailers. There were game reveals including Open Roads and Perfect Dark, while also additional characters for Fortnite and Super Smash Bros. were released. Here are the biggest moments if you missed the show
Halo star Master Chief comes to FORTNITE
As has been long-expected, one of the additional characters added to Fortnite is Halo star Master Chief, Epic revealed. The character is available today, and joining him later this season will be characters from The Walking Dead.
AMONG US gets bigger with a new map
At The Game Awards the development team of the breakout social hit Among Us revealed a brand-new map, which is going to provide you with even more ways to mess with your friends. It is reportedly an airship and will be launching early 2021.
Hazelight shows off IT TAKES TWO
Hazelight, A Way Out developer, showed off its next game, named It Takes Two, which is described as “a genre-bending platform adventure game created as a purely co-op experience,” according to the Verge. It’s scheduled to release on March 26th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
OFK Debuts
was also the announcement of a game. We Are OFK is an interactive series scheduled to debut in spring 2021, it will take a look at the rise of an aspiring pop group called OFK, and fans got an early taste as it was one of the night’s musical acts.
OPEN ROADS from the creators of Gone Home
Fullbright, Gone Home developer has scheduled a new release, called Open Roads, to launch next year. Starring Keri Russell and Kaitlyn Dever, the game tells the story of a mother and daughter on a road trip through a desolate landscape.
SEPHIROTH is the newest for SUPER SMASH BROS.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting its own one-winged angel, Sephiroth, who is the main villain of Final Fantasy VII. He carries with him a katana and floats angelically on a single black wing.
BACK 4 BLOOD trailer released
Turtlerock previously revealed it was working on a zombie-themed co-op shooter that would be similar to Left 4 Dead, and the developer showed off in a new gameplay trailer just what it looks like. Back 4 Blood will involve four players gearing up to fight off waves of the undead together.
The Initiative brings back PERFECT DARK
Santa Monica based Xbox Games studio, The Initiative, is working on its debut game: a modern reboot of the classic Perfect Dark series. Only a cinematic trailer was released giving no word on when it will be available.
EA and Bioware give another DRAGON AGE 4 teaser
EA and BioWare cannot stop teasing the next Dragon Age, and they showed the best look yet with a trailer that gives a good sense of the fantasy world, at the Game Awards.No release date has yet been mentioned.
Play as VIN DIESEL in ARK 2
The latest trailer released at the Game Awards for survival game Ark 2 contained a surprise for its fans as Vin Diesel stars as the lead. You can control the character while fighting monsters and dinosaurs.
SEASONS announced by Scavengers Studios
Scavengers Studios announced Season, which has a premise that’s both peaceful and full of sorrow. According to The Verge, it’s described as “a third-person atmospheric adventure game” where “you play as a young woman from a secluded village exploring the world by bike for the first time, collecting artifacts and memories before a cataclysm washes everything away.” No date mentioned when it will be available.
FLIGHT SIMULATOR will be available on Console in 2021
Microsoft officially revealed that one of this year’s biggest games, Microsoft Flight Simulator, will be available on Xbox next summer although it will only be on next-gen hardware.
