Nothing is set to release its next mid-range smartphones, the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro, on March 4th. As expected, the company is starting to drop teasers for the new devices, and the latest is a feature that might set the 3a series apart from other mid-range competitors: a dedicated camera button.

Nothing Phone 3a Teases Dedicated Camera Button Ahead of March 4 Launch
In a post on X, Nothing published an X-ray-style image of a phone with an extra button just under the power button. This button is wider and shorter than the others and follows a cryptic message: “Your second memory, one click away.” Nothing hasn’t explicitly confirmed the button’s exact purpose, but the phrase “one click away” strongly implies that it could act as a camera button.
The idea of a dedicated camera button has been making a comeback in smartphones. Apple launched it with the iPhone 16 series in 2024 but the complex design drew mixed user reactions. A later version for Android simplified the technology and made it more intuitive to use, as did Oppo’s Find X8 Pro. Considering Nothing has its sights set on slick, modern design and user experience, we’d reckon that their version will follow a more practical and seamless route like that of Oppo’s implementation.
Other than the camera button, leaks suggest that the Nothing Phone 3a will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery. The phone also is expected to feature a new triple-camera setup that includes a telephoto lens—an upgrade for Nothing—and a new glyph interface on the back. Rumored specifications for the Phone 3a include a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 45W wired charging support. While the exact differences between the Pro and non-Pro models are still unclear, more details are expected to emerge closer to the launch.
