Although the Samsung Galaxy S25 series debuted without the Exynos 2500 chipset, leading some to speculate that Samsung might forgo an Exynos-powered flagship this year, a recent revelation has confirmed otherwise. In fact, in its earnings report that it shared during an investor call, Samsung disclosed that it is actively developing the Exynos 2500, which indicates it will indeed be in Samsung’s future mobile offerings.

The System LSI department confirmed the news while revealing the company was working on refining the Exynos 2500 flagship chipset. Samsung is seeking design wins in mobile devices set to come out in the second half of 2025, the report claims. This means that Samsung is planning on using the Exynos 2500 in at least the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, its new foldable devices. The new chipset could power these phones, set to debut in the second half of 2025, which would be a critical landmark for the Exynos series.

All models of Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 will not have this chipset, but there is no doubt that an Exynos 2500 inside certain countries/regions foldable models. Samsung has been known to use various chipsets across different markets, with the US regions usually getting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series. Then how many regional units of Exynos 2500 will be developed or used for all units is still unknown.

Going with the confirmation of the chipset’s development, more recent leaks also offered details regarding the specs of the Exynos 2500. Most notably, the chipset will come with an updated CPU cluster featuring a 1+2+2+5 design over that of the Exynos 2400’s 1+2+3+4 setup. A new architecture could yield sustained performance and efficiency improvements elevating the chipset further for Samsung’s next-gen foldable image.
