A few days back, Brazilian club, Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama’s director of sport Fabio Cordella claimed that he has reached an agreement with Mario Balotelli to join in January.

But transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed today that the Italian striker never wanted to leave Italy. “Balotelli will have his medicals on Monday and then he’ll sign his contract. He’s never been close to joining Vasco da Gama in Brazil – Mario always wanted to stay in Italy and will join Monza in Serie B.”-Romano Tweeted.

Balotelli’s contract with Brescia ended in a bad term after the Italian club was relegated last season to Serie B. On the other side, Monza was promoted to Serie B this season after becoming the champion of Serie C last season. This season they are targeting to gain promotion to the top division league of Italy and Mario Balotelli will be an excellent addition for them to achieve their goal.
