Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav claimed five wickets as Virat Kohli-led India thrashed West Indies by an innings and 272 runs inside three days at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The massive victory was India’s biggest ever in Tests (by innings).
India pulled off their biggest win over West Indies in recent times.India won by an innings and 272-run and ended the game inside three days in the first Test on Saturday.
India dominated the game, scored 649 for nine in their first innings before bowling out the West Indies twice on day three, to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
West Indies were bundled out for 181 in 48 overs before lunch and were forced to follow-on. They did not fare any better in the second innings, crumbling to 196 all out in 50.5 overs in the final session.
While Ravichandran Ashwin (4/37) was the pick of the bowlers in the morning session.
Kuldeep Yadav (5/57) was all over the opposition batsmen in the second innings on way to a maiden five-wicket haul in Tests. Kuldeep Yadav became the 1st player to claim 5 wicket haul in every format in a calender year.
Prithvi Shaw becomes the 1st player to score 100’s in Ranji trophy,Dilip trophy and in test match. Prithvi is the &th youngest player to score a test hundred. He is the 15th Indian to score a hundred in debut.
Virat Kohli scored his 24th test ton in 123 innings. Prior to him is Don Bradman, who scored it in 66 innings.
Ravindra Jadeja scored his maiden test century.
