In a significant move to empower Indians to take control of their health, Samsung has launched the Health Records feature in its Samsung Health app. This innovative feature enables users to create and access their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) directly through the app, making it easier to manage health data generated by healthcare providers across India.

Samsung introduces personal Health Records feature on Samsung Health app in India

What is the Health Records Feature?

The Health Records feature allows users to:

  • Create and access their ABHA account using Aadhaar or mobile numbers.
  • View their medical history, including prescriptions, lab results, and hospital visits, all securely linked to their unique ABHA IDs.
  • Share health records with doctors or caretakers in a secure manner anytime.
  • Scan QR codes at ABDM-compliant hospitals and clinics to obtain virtual queue tokens and minimize wait times.

Aligning with India’s Digital Health Mission

Samsung’s initiative is aligned with the Indian government’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) project, which aims to create a connected and efficient healthcare ecosystem in the country. Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director of Samsung Research Institute, Noida, said:

“The introduction of the Health Records feature signifies our dedication to providing convenient access to digital health records, enabling data sharing with doctors or caretakers in a secure manner anytime.”

A Collaborative Effort for a Healthier India

The Health Records feature is the result of a collaboration between Samsung and Eka Care, India’s leading ABDM-certified integrator. Deepak Tuli, co-founder of Eka Care, said:

“This partnership will significantly accelerate the adoption of ABDM across India, building a more connected and efficient healthcare ecosystem.”

How it Works

Users can register for an ABHA account within the Samsung Health app and access their medical history, including:

  • Prescriptions
  • Laboratory results
  • Hospital visits
  • More

All health data is stored in ABDM-certified secure health lockers, eliminating the need for cumbersome paper trails.

Additional Features for a Comprehensive Health Experience

The Samsung Health app offers:

  • Medication management
  • Sleep monitoring
  • Mindfulness programs
  • Irregular heartbeat notifications
  • All user data is secured by defense-grade Knox Security Platform

Get Started with the Health Records Feature

Indian users can experience the new Health Records feature by updating the Samsung Health app via the Samsung Galaxy Store or Google Play Store.

Conclusion

Samsung’s Health Records feature is a significant step towards revolutionizing personal healthcare management in India. By providing seamless and secure integration with the country’s digital health ecosystem, Samsung is empowering Indians to take control of their health and well-being.
