With the winter transfer window approaching in less than a month, talks over Jadon Sancho will be circulated once again. The same as they were in the summer. However, Fabrizio Romano, in conversation with BILD’s Christian Falk, made it pretty clear that it would be impossible for anybody to land the winger in January.

All that said, Dortmund are reportedly still holding out for an offer for their prized asset from Manchester United. Especially because Sancho and United are reportedly in contact and have agreed on personal terms long ago.

Considering that Sancho is getting older, and more experienced in playing in the highest tier of European football, the €120 million price tag could just be the beginning of the asking price.

If Sancho has anything close to the season that he had in 19/20, the asking price could easily shoot up to more.

This is the only part where Manchester United hold the advantage over the other clubs who want the English winger. According to Falk, Sancho has decided to wait at Dortmund for another year, but will definitely want to move in the summer of 2021.

Should Manchester United not go for their man in the winter, they will have to arrange for €120 million, and do so fast. That is considering that many of the big clubs in Europe will have arranged the money for the signing and that Sancho could have gotten tired of waiting for United.

All things considered, Sancho himself has acknowledged that the transfer talks have been a factor in his recent drop in form. After managing to rack up over 40 goal contributions last season, his form has not been carried through to the 20/21 season so far.

The player would be wise to gain consistency in the Bundesliga first before trying to move back to the Premier League for good.
