ASUS breaks its silence on its next-gen Zenfone, the Zenfone 12 Ultra, which will be unveiled next month. This comes a month earlier than the Zenfone 11 Ultra, which was only launched last year in March. The Zenfone 11 Ultra saw ASUS finally pivot away from the compact design philosophies of older Zenfones, and the Zenfone 12 Ultra is shaping up to be no different, keeping that larger form factor in tow.

ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra Launch Set for February 6, 2025: What to Expect
On X, ASUS announced the unveiling date for the Zenfone 12 Ultra as February 6 at 14:30 GMT (8 PM IST). The teaser also implies AI-powered features aimed towards improving the mobile photography experience, especially for video recording functionality. As per the attached image, the device will support 4K video recording and, most likely, focus tracking as well for improved video recording.
Although ASUS didn’t provide much information about the Zenfone 12 Ultra, more details should come before the official announcement. As for the device, it was previously noticed on Bluetooth SIG certification in November too, and it also appeared on the IMEI database, adding to the speculation. Even the Zenfone 11 Ultra essentially was a rebrand of the ROG Phone 8 and the Zenfone 12 Ultra will most likely be a rebrand of the ROG Phone 9 as far as specs are concerned.
The ROG Phone 9 boasts a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, up to 24GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, making the Zenfone 12 Ultra likely to offer comparable high-end performance. Although the Zenfone 11 Ultra didn’t make its debut in India, the ROG Phone 8 Pro launched in January last year at ₹94,999. The Zenfone 12 Ultra may also make its way to India, where ASUS fans can expect competitive pricing.
