The Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 395, AMD’s most extravagant Strix Halo APU, had a listing in the Geekbench database and was shown to have 16 cores and an 8060S Radeon iGPU. Although AMD’s Strix Halo “Ryzen AI Max” APUs were already expected, this is the first time that one has been spotted in Geekbench, which generally means that a launch is on the horizon. The new APUs are slated for a CES 2025 debut.

This is not only in line with previous reports but also confirmed for different models in AMD’s own database. It features sixteen Zen 5 cores, thirty-two threads, a base frequency of 3.0 GHz, and a maximum frequency of 4.4 GHz, with the ability to go up to 5.1 GHz in some cases. Thanks to its dual CCD chiplet design, the chip comes with 64 MB of L3 cache and 16 MB of L2 cache. The TDP will be in the range of 55W up to 130W.

On the graphics side, the Strix Halo APUs leverage RDNA 3.5, as present in AMD‘s current Strix “Ryzen AI 300” lineup but with a much larger iGPU, with up to 40 compute units. The APUs are paired with a Radeon 8060S iGPU and 64 GB of DDR5 memory. RDNA 4 branding using the Radeon 8000 name has now been validated by the upcoming CES from this new generation.

When it comes to performance, the Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 395 achieved a score of 67,004 in the Vulkan API test, ahead of the GeForce RTX 3050. This is an early sample using unoptimized drivers, so performance should improve quite a bit by the time of release.

The Orbs with Strix Halo APUs are expected to hit the market in 2025, along with more Zen 5 mobile products, including Fire Range and Kracken Point. These will be on laptops, tablets, handhelds, and Mini PCs in the year.
