Well, the hype is actually there as AMD is going head-to-head against NVIDIA this time with its new Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs. AMD launched three GPUs all-together, however, stocks is a issue for both AMD and NVIDIA, still gamers are excited seeing the performance leap in variety of modern games.
While NVIDIA is preparing to launch the ‘Ti’ version of its previously launched RTX 3080, AMD seems to be working on the non XT version of RX 6900 XT i.e. the Radeon RX 6900. Recently, ASUS has registered a multiple number of Radeon RX 6900 SKUs with the EEC in Russia.
ASUS has listed almost seven RX 6900 cards as per a new registration with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). The listing includes four ROG Strix cards, two TUF SKUs and a regular RX 6900 model. All of these GPUs feature 16 GB of VRAM, based on their codenames:
- ROG-STRIX-LC-RX6900-16G-GAMING
- ROG-STRIX-LC-RX6900-16G-GAMING
- ROG-STRIX-RX6900-16G-GAMING
- ROG-STRIX-RX6900-16G-GAMING
- TUF-RX6900-16G-GAMING
- TUF-RX6900-O16G-GAMING
- RX6900-16G
As Notebookcheck points out, ASUS might have registered these GPUs under the wrong model numbers, which could eventually mean ASUS is planning to launch under the wrong model numbers. However, one thing is clear ASUS is planning to bring more custom GPU for gamers, a good news if you couldn’t get your hands-on with latest AMD GPUs.
Also, this might be a hint by the Taiwanese OEM that AMD, at some point of time, will be bringing the RX 6900 to the market and eventually we also wait for AMD’s 1440p gaming GPUs i.e. the RX 6700 GPUs.
