BMW has taken the wraps off the new M5 in India and this is the most powerful version of its sedan yet, on sale here. All-new M5 gets a hybrid powertrain and is priced from ₹1.99 Crore (Ex-showroom). While boosting the output, this hybrid setup has increased the weight of the car as well. M5 Colors are Inception Blue, along with one of five available metallic colors: Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Marina Bay Blue, and only available with optional BMW Individual paintworks. On the inside, customers can get the Full Leather Merino in combinations like Red/Black, Kyalami Orange as well as Silverstone/Black.

BMW Unveils All-New M5 in India: Hybrid Power and 727 bhp for ₹1.99 Crore
Just like other M models, the M5 retains its heritage as a performance sedan, with an M Twin Power Turbo S68 4.4L V8 in conjunction with an electric motor. The total system output is 727 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque. The V8 engine contributes 585 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. The M5 has an 18.3 kW battery, with a claimed all-electric mileage of up to 69 km on one charge (WLTP cycle).
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and reach 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds. The M5’s top speed is ever so slightly limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), though it can be raised to 305 km/h (189 mph) with the optional M Driver’s Package; it’ll do up to 140 km/h on EV-only power.
An 8-speed automatic gearbox is standard on the M5, which also features an xDrive AWD system for traction under acceleration but can be switched into rear-wheel-drive mode for spirited driving. It also packs rear-wheel steering, adaptive M Suspension, and an M Carbon Exterior Package that helps shave off weight with a carbon roof, mirror caps, and rear spoiler. Optional M Carbon ceramic brakes.
The M5 flaunts its signature twin headlights, and an active kidney grille, and is anchored by a commanding presence on the outside. Inside the car gets curved screens with BMW OS 8.5, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and leather upholstery to showcase its benefits in luxury and tech.
