Zomato Introduces 'Book Now, Sell Anytime' Feature for Event Tickets

Zomato Launches ‘Book Now, Sell Anytime’ Feature for Seamless Event Ticket Reselling

In a blog post, Zomato explained that the feature is aimed at resolving apprehensions regarding advance ticket purchasing like the worry of plans changing. The idea is to make the booking process as smooth and secure as possible, while also relieving those users who might be concerned about ending up with tickets that they’ve got no way of using. Users can purchase tickets to an event as soon as it is listed for sale through the new Book Now, Sell Anytime functionality. They then put a resell ticket with Zomato, the price for this can be higher or lower than the original ticket and ensures it comes with no further use. If they cannot go to an event later on.

Still, the resale price is limited to a maximum of two times the live price for the event. When the second customer buys the same ticket, the first one is called off, and a new Zomato-verified ticket is created. While they will receive their full listed amount directly to their payment method of choice, less tax. The company added that the feature was aimed at curbing malpractices, such as selling on the black market or exorbitant price inflation.

In the interest of fairness, customers are restricted to purchasing a maximum of 10 tickets per event category and a limit will be allocated to each event. The online food platform said it will be “keeping a watch on the feature to prevent abuse of the same”. A Zomato Feeding India Concert will initially host the ‘Book Now, Sell Anytime’ feature before it extends to others. The company said that it will continue to evolve this feature and that the aim is to provide a better experience for customers.
