The lockdown induced by the pandemic and the increasing demand for digital gaming has increased gaming industry profits. With online gaming and video games becoming more popular, more tech industries show their interest in this field.

Now, the world’s largest chipmaker Qualcomm is showing interest in the e-sport market of India. The chipmaker announced the Snapdragon Conquest, which is the first mobile e-sports tournament in the country. The total for winning the tournament is a total of Rs. 50,00,000 or 50 lakhs.

Qualcomm is planning to host multiple tournaments for different games every year, and all will be part of Snapdragon Conquest. According to sources, the first season is named Snapdragon Conquest: Free Fire Open 2020, and the game that will be officially used is Garena Free Fire. It is an excellent time for these games to be used for Qualcomm’s e-sport event, as due to the absence of PUBG in India, it is a perfect time for these games.

Rajen Vagadia, Vice President, Qualcomm India, stated, “Our work with the larger ecosystem of OEMs, game developers, and publishers is helping us learn and provide an upgraded gaming experience across multiple price tiers. We are excited about the launch of Snapdragon Conquest, our new gaming program. With Snapdragon Conquest, we are creating a community that challenges the competitive skills of gamers, allowing us a deeper understanding of the gaming needs of all our users in India.”

Sources also state that there won’t be any registration or participation for gamers who want to participate in the event. The game will also be live broadcasts, and players can live stream their matches.
