Bajaj Auto, which is the leading 2W and 3W manufacturer has been redefining the premium commuter and street motorcycle segment with its Pulse brand. The latest addition to the Pulsar lineup is the Pulsar N125, which aims to enhance sales and establish Bajaj as the top seller of 125cc motorcycles in the country. After unveiling the Freedom 125 CNG, the world’s first CNG motorcycle, Bajaj now has launched its biggest Pulsar ever – the Pulsar NS400Z.
The All New Bajaj Pulsar N125
The freshly introduced Pulsar N125, aimed at the bottom of the displacement spectrum and to become India’s top-selling 125cc bike. Bajaj’s 125cc range, which includes the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS125, has been its best-performing category. The Pulsar N125 stands out as the sportiest of the three, while the Pulsar NS125 is bulkier due to its larger size and weight.
The Pulsar N125 looks aggressive by design with muscular tank shrouds and an odd headlight design. Features the bike gets also includes a sculpted fuel tank with dual-tone paint job, split saddle that will bilingually house the rider and pillion seat unit, sporty single piece rear grab bar for passenger safety and chunkier tyre hugger.
The design comprehensively includes the quarter liter bike, with muscular covers for better rugged look finished on RSU telescopic front forks just as it is in case of Freedom 125. The headlights and rear taillights are LED, however turn indicators use halogen bulbs which is unlike the Hero Xtreme 125R. The rider’s triangle also seemed useful for an upright position with some lean on handlebar.
In terms of specifications, the Pulsar N125 is powered by a 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivers a peak power of 11.8 bhp and a peak torque of 11 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. These figures are comparable to those of the Pulsar NS125, but the N125’s lighter weight offers a better power-to-weight ratio. In terms of components, it is equipped with RSU telescopic front forks, mono-shock at the rear adjustable, an optional disc brake in front wheel and a box section swingarm as well 17-inch wheels that are carried from Pulsar line up seen on P150.
It also gets a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth and mobile charging. On the flipside, some of its rivals are the Hero Xtreme 125R and TVS Raider 125. Bajaj Auto falls up to 12% on the BSE; slides over ₹1,450 at ₹10,170. The analysts attributed this decline to the cautious outlook for the forthcoming festive season around and with FY 2024/25 Q2 results, which have just been announced.
