Liverpool have entered a new era with the arrival of Arne Slot, and the Dutchman seems to be putting his faith in the youth already. The likes of Tom Hill have already made their way into the Premier League squad.

And now, it seems two more youngsters have been called up to the senior team to train. James Norris and Tommy Pilling are the two players, with Norris having played for the senior team twice before.

Let’s quickly take a look at the two youngsters’ backgrounds.

Pilling is a central midfielder who has been at the academy from a very young age. He is still only 19 years old and currently plays for the club’s U21 side.

He is predominantly more defensive minded, having made 84 appearances for the club’s U21, U19 and U18 side so far and scoring just one goal.

Norris, on the other hand, has already played for the first team as mentioned above. He can play as a left midfielder, left winger, as well as a central midfielder. It remains to be seen how things turn out for the pair and whether they can break into the matchday squad regularly.

Who is Liverpool’s new manager?

Arne Slot, previously of Feyenoord
