A recent leak showcasing a benchmark for the PlayStation 5 Pro offers a glimpse into the potential improvements for games on the upcoming console. This leak posted by Moore’s Law is Dead, showcases testing footage of the new console playing games next to a standard PlayStation 5 on which an anonymous developer ran through various titles.

The Performance Leaks Regarding PlayStation 5 Pro

In the video, it is confirmed that on the base model, this title will work at resolutions from 1080p to 1600p with medium and high settings, for framerates ranging between 45 and 60 FPS. On the other hand, on PlayStation 5 Pro the game brings a higher dynamic resolution bracket of 1600p to 2160p with as good as maximum settings as it gets whilst keeping a locked 60 FPS without any frame dips. The developer is also looking to add support for 4K resolution and 120 Hz modes down the line.

The developer has also shared some more information such as a newly added 8K option for Gran Turismo 7, this is not to mention the fact that it’s so far alone in terms of titles that have been confirmed to support the preposterously high resolution. The PlayStation 5 Pro includes an additional 1.2 GB of RAM as a result of Memory System Efficiency which is said to bring it above 28% peak bandwidth in the Sony documentation.

The High CPU Frequency Mode will offer a 10% boost in CPU performance, with a slight increase in GPU performance, giving developers more flexibility. Finally, there’s the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaler that has been upgraded to version 9.4 with better picture quality at just 250MB of RAM used for deployment. This upgrade indicates that the available memory is sufficient for the system’s needs.

While the leaked benchmark provides valuable insights, the official technical presentation from Sony has yet to delve deeply into these improvements. More detailed information from Sony could potentially justify the console’s high price for gamers, highlighting the benefits of the enhanced specs and PSSR upscaler.
