East Bengal have officially confirmed the signing of Dimitrios Diamantakos on a two-year contract till 2026. The Red and Gold side uploaded an announcement video highlighting the Greek striker’s background as part of the reveal.
Diamantakos won the ISL Golden Boot this past season with Kerala Blasters, scoring 13 goals in 17 matches. He was tied on goals with Roy Krishna of Odisha FC, but scored 13 in fewer games, winning the award as a result of the tie breaker.

The 31-year-old’s arrival is expected to solve East Bengal’s finishing problems in the final third. The team is able to conjure a lot of great chances, but struggles to put them away. Cleiton Silva has been the only exception to this trend, with the club captain almost single-handedly guiding the team to the Kalinga Super Cup this past season.
With the arrival of a prolific striker like Dimitrios Diamantakos, the team will benefit significantly by having a recognised goalscorer leading the line.
East Bengal have also signed Madih Talal to help their chance creation, and also recruited David Lalhansanga from Mohammedan Sporting to add more backup to their forward line. They have made some bold moves in the transfer window this far, and it’ll be interesting to see if they can add more reinforcements in defence as well.
