For Intel’s CPU lineup, the transition will start with the higher-end HX series which is expected to make the move to the Arrow Lake-HX family that will feature up to 8 Lion Cove P-Cores and 16 Skymont E-Cores which represents the Arrow Lake-S Desktop SKUs. On the AMD side of the street, the roadmap shows most of the next-gen line-up landing in 2025. The Fire Range CPU family, featuring the AMD Zen 5 core architecture akin to the desktop Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” lineup, will retain 16 cores and introduce X3D variants boosted by 3D V-Cache for enhanced gaming performance.

Additionally, the Strix family will include Strix Halo chips with 16 Zen 5 cores and Strix Point, now dubbed the Ryzen AI 300 series, boasting 12 cores. Strix Point is set to arrive as early as July 2024, with Krackan Point APUs following suit, featuring 8 cores and a 50 TOPS AI NPU. These APUs will be FP8 (LPDDR) and FP11 (LPDDR5) compatible, respectively, while Fire Range will be FL1 (DDR5) compatible.
