Earlier this year, the OnePlus 12 was released in global markets, while it was unveiled in the Chinese market near the end of 2023. The same pattern will follow with the OnePlus 13, which is likely to launch in China first and in global markets, including India. Although an official launch schedule has not yet been released, the OnePlus 13 specifications have been leaked online.
The Rumored OnePlus 13
According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus 13 will have a 6.8-inch micro-curved screen with 2K resolution. Furthermore, the OnePlus 13 will incorporate LTPO technology, which has been used in prior models to conserve battery life. The screen size and quality are the same as the OnePlus 12. This implies that the screen is identical in its design and that no extra features are provided.
Significant changes are speculated in terms of design, although specific details or supporting leaks are currently unavailable. More details about this aspect are likely to be revealed in the next few weeks or months. Some of the early leaks suggest that the OnePlus 13 is likely to adopt an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. This is a significant step up compared to its predecessor’s optical sensor. Additionally, the ultrasonic sensor is likely to open the device even using oily or dirty fingers.
In the future, the OnePlus 13 is probably going to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC since it is expected to be the next flagship chip from Qualcomm expected to be released later this year. In addition, the rear camera is rumored to be made up of a multi-focal camera system, including a periscope telephoto camera to boost zoom. However, specific details are yet to be confirmed.
Currently, there is no revelation on when the OnePlus 13 will launch. Since the company typically releases one flagship model a year, it may not reach the global markets this year since 2024 already has one device from OnePlus. However, in the event that it gazes in China, the next-gen OnePlus 13 could arrive early next year.
As a recap, the OnePlus 12 debuted in India in January and was priced at Rs 64,999. The next flagship device from OnePlus is anticipated to fall within the same range. Alternatively, the device maker may slightly increase the price, and this will depend on the upgrades in the new flagship device, and we can not speculate on it.
