Every fall, Xiaomi releases new “T” models that are high-end devices but still not quite flagship. After the 13T and 13T Pro launched last year, this one probably guessed – the Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro are to be expected this year. And what’s more, we have recently come across a leak on which the new devices are already partially or completely revealed. Let’s start with the Pro variant. According to rumors, it should be partially inspired by the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra, a smartphone intended primarily for the Chinese market. The 14T Pro will be slightly improved over the base.
More About the Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro
The Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro will both be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. However, the Xiaomi 14T Pro will be the first T series device to feature wireless charging and a telephoto camera, neither of which are included in the K70 Ultra – even the latter is swapped out for a macro shooter. As with the 14 Pro, the 14T Pro will continue the T series’ Leica co-branding, though the Redmi will not in order to keep the price lower.
Both devices are expected to be sold in Europe, Japan, and other markets. However, as with every other T series launch to date, India will not be included. Softbank will be the offering provider in Japan, maintaining the usual distribution channels for the T series.
In terms of specifications, if the 13T is already powered by the Dimensity 8000 series SoC, then we can expect the 14T to use the Dimensity 8000 series as well. The main difference is expected to be in the ability to charge quickly, which the Pro version will be able to do much faster. Therefore, I would not be surprised if the 14T did not receive wireless charging either.
Thus, Xiaomi’s new devices 14T and 14T Pro open up opportunities for a high-performance smartphone with new performance characteristics. These innovations and some established capabilities reinforce the smartphone’s further successful position in the market.
