For all of Bayern Munich’s struggles this season, Harry Kane has remained the silver lining throughout the year. The England captain scored once again as Bayern comfortably defeated Darmstadt in the Bundesliga to continue their return to winning ways.
With the goal, Kane now has 31 goals in the Bundesliga, which is the most scored by any debutant in the German top flight. But that isn’t the only record he’s broken tonight. The striker has also achieved a personal best, as he has never scored 31 league goals ever before in the Premier League.
Harry Kane breaks Bundesliga debut season record
Robert Lewandowski’s record for scoring the most goals in a single season now looks in sight for the prolific striker. The Polish sensation scored 41 goals in one season before leaving for Barcelona, overtaking the legendary Gerd Muller. And only a few years later, Kane could claim the record all for himself.
He needs to score 10 more goals to equal the record, and 11 to break it. To achieve the feat, he has eight more games left, and he will have to try and score braces and hat-tricks to make history, even if it means going without the title in his maiden campaign.
