Hyderabad FC staged a dramatic comeback in the second half to secure a 2-2 draw against NorthEast United FC at the Gachibowli Stadium in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24.
The deadlock was broken in the 32nd minute when Parthib Gogoi ended his nine-match goal drought by seizing an opportunity against a disorganized Hyderabad FC defence. Gogoi’s long-range effort found the back of the net, marking his fourth goal of the season.
Despite NorthEast United’s dominance, Hyderabad FC’s goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani put up a strong performance, making three crucial saves and completing 92% of his passes.
However, the host’s defence faltered early in the second half, conceding an own goal by Alex Saji, giving NorthEast United a lead.

Yet, the Nizams’ resilience, especially their trust in young talents, shone through. Makhan Chothe ended his scoring drought in the 70th minute, capitalizing on Abdul Rabeeh’s cross to reduce the deficit.
Buoyed by Chothe’s goal, the home team continued to press forward. Chothe’s powerful shot, initially saved by goalkeeper Mirshad Michu, fell to Joao Victor, who calmly tapped in the equalizer.
This hard-fought draw marked only the fifth time Hyderabad have managed to salvage a point this season.
Looking ahead, Hyderabad FC will face Chennaiyin FC on March 9, while NorthEast United FC will take on Punjab FC on March 7.
