As per a report by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg Apple has decided against hosting an event to reveal its iPads and Macs. Instead, the company is planning to showcase these products on its website through a mix of videos and marketing efforts. If this approach is followed we can expect the new products to be unveiled through press releases on the Apple Newsroom webpage.

No Apple Event for Upcoming iPad and Mac

Gurman predicts that the company will launch products, including two iPad Pro models featuring the M3 chip and OLED displays as well as a fresh Magic Keyboard specifically designed for the iPad Pro. Additionally, there are speculations about two iPad Air models coming out with one being a 12.9-inch version—a first for the iPad Air series. Moreover, the announcement might also include one new Apple Pencil and updated versions of the MacBook Air with M3 chips in both 13-inch and 15-inch sizes.

Rumors suggest that the new iPad Pro models could be slimmer and might sport a camera oriented toward landscape mode to what’s seen in the design of the iPad 10. Furthermore, it’s common for Apple to introduce color options for iPhones and accessories like cases for iPhones and bands for Apple Watches in March or April.

According to Gurman, the tech giant is getting ready to launch an edition of iOS 17.4 that will work with the hardware. It’s expected to be ready, by the end of March hinting that the new gadgets could hit the shelves in March or April. Presumably, corresponding versions of iPadOS 17.4 and macOS 14.4 will come preinstalled on the new iPads and Macs.

There are also reports from Supercharged today indicating that Apple has arranged briefings with select members of the media and is planning an in-store refresh this week, suggesting imminent product announcements. However, it’s important to exercise caution, as this same website previously inaccurately reported the announcement of new iPads in October 2023.

Furthermore, iOS 17.4 is expected to bring significant changes to the App Store and other aspects in compliance with the Digital Markets Act in the EU. Apple has until March 6 to comply with this legislation to avoid potential fines, hence the anticipation for the release of iOS 17.4, followed by the special version later in the month.
