Adobe’s new AI Assistant enables you to summarize your PDFs and pose questions regarding them

Adobe claims that the same AI and machine learning models that power Acrobat Liquid Mode—a feature that facilitates mobile PDF viewing that is responsive—also power its AI Assistant for Reader and Acrobat. The ability of these LLM models to analyze PDF structure and content supports the AI assistant’s ability to give users more dependable, high-quality results.

Using the same AI and machine learning algorithms as Acrobat Liquid Mode, AI Assistant provides mobile readers of PDFs with a responsive experience. AI Assistant outputs are produced with higher quality and dependability because to these proprietary models, which offer a thorough comprehension of PDF content and structure.

“By converting the data contained in PDFs into actionable, knowledgeable, and polished content, generative AI holds the potential to create more intelligent document experiences,” stated Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president of Document Cloud.

The capabilities unveiled today are just the beginning of the value AI Assistant will bring through Reader and Acrobat apps and services. PDF is the de facto standard for the most important documents in the world.

The AI Assistant features will be available in English to those with desktop and web Acrobat Standard and Pro Individual and Teams subscription levels during the beta period. Over the following few weeks, the capabilities will progressively be made available to Reader desktop users in English. Support for more languages will be added later.

For those with Acrobat Standard and Pro Individual membership plans as well as Teams, the Adobe Acrobat AI assistant is now offered in beta without charge. In the upcoming weeks, it will also be free of charge for users of the English Reader app on desktops and laptops.
