Kaushik Das aka DJ ROOP will now be the one to represent India in the iconic Tomorrowland Belgium 2024. This will add another feather to his already impressive career. He will be performing at Tomorrowland Belgium 2024 on 27th July 2024 at the RISE Stage for Yves V presents V Sessions.
Kaushik Das said about how he plans to perform at Tomorrowland Belgium 2024: “I have planned to wear something like a kurta and work a bit more on my looks because I am representing India. Also, I have planned to play songs which have English vocals, which makes the audience easy to connect with, but the other instruments should have some Indian / ethnic essence because I don’t want to be just another DJ. I’ll be going from India & I should be sounding Indian too. I would like to take Indian music to the world.”
Who is Kaushik Das aka DJ ROOP?
Kaushik Das hails from West Bengal, India and has a Btech degree. Currently, he is a full-time Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) along with pursuing a full-time M.Tech Degree from Jadavpur University.
However, his love for music has never faded away despite working in the corporate world. He has continued to follow his passion and has established himself as one of the best-emerging DJs from India. He was offered a 100% scholarship from India’s No. 1 DJ Academy, PartyMap, from where he did the DJing & Music Production certification course.
He is also associated with the Tomorrowland Foundation Music & Arts School, Kolkata as their DJing faculty. He has performed live in the college festivals of many prestigious institutes of India like IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIM Calcutta, AIIMS Kalyani and many more. He has also performed at many concerts which were associated with some of the top musical brands in India like MTV Beats, Vh1 India, BookMyShow, Paytm Insider, Sunburn, etc.
Along with this, he has also performed alongside (opening/closing act) some of the musical legends like Martin Garrix, Salim-Sulaiman, Armin Van Buuren, Siddharth Mahadevan, Nucleya, Ash King, Justin Mylo, Lost Stories, Laura Van Dam, Dualist Inquiry, Gian Nobilee, Siana Catherine, Zephyrtone, Gurbax, Julia Bliss, Fakira (Band) and many more. One of his biggest achievements to date was performing at Sunburn Goa 2022, which is Asia’s Biggest Music Festival. However, it is now going to change once he performs at Tomorrowland Belgium 2024.
