After Matchday 3 of the Premier League, there are only four teams that remain unbeaten. Although these are early days in the competition, the clubs have put their foot down and shown an intention to progress with their respective objectives.
Here we take a look at the four clubs and how they seem poised for the future:
1) Liverpool
A genuine favourite for the title, Liverpool have only started off from where they finished last season. With Man City slipping up courtesy of a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Leicester, the Reds have once again reinforced their squad strength with all players looking to fire.
Winning games against Leeds, Chelsea and Arsenal with an aggregate score of 10-4, Liverpool have had no problems controlling possession and finding the back of the net. But with upcoming fixtures such as Aston Villa, Sheffield and Everton, they look primed to face a tough fight in picking up points.
PREDICTED TABLE FINISH – 1st
2) Leicester City
Brendan Rodgers’ side have come out with all cylinders firing after missing out on the Champions’ League last season. The fact that they have beaten top sides and been consistent in their performances show that they are top contenders for European football again this season.
Jamie Vardy has been in superb form scoring 5 goals in 3 matches so far. The Foxes next face West Ham, Aston Villa and Arsenal. But seeing the way they have performed, Leicester might just solidify their position in the top four places.
PREDICTED TABLE FINISH – 4th
3) Everton
Although many football fans expected Everton to mount a challenge for the top half places, no one expected them to be 3rd even after three games. The fact that Ancelotti’s men have begun on the front foot with confidence flowing through their gameplay. James Rodriguez, Richarlison and especially top scorer Dominic Calvert Lewin have all impressed so far.
With a goal aggregate of 8-3, there are still some minor doubts over their defensive capabilities. But if they continue this form, it will be hard to beat Everton who can capitalize on opposition’s mistakes.
PREDICTED TABLE FINISH – 6th
4) Aston Villa
The surprise candidate of them all is Dean Smith’s Aston Villa. With a host of new signings made and doubts from last season due to being close to relegation, Villa have definitely started on the right note. By winning two in two games now, new keeper Emiliano Martinez’s clean sheets will give him good confidence.
However, the upcoming games coupled with the fact that other teams start to settle in, Villa will start to drop points. Eventually, despite the best efforts from the likes of Grealish, McGinn and Hourihane, they will end up finishing in the mid-table places.
PREDICTED TABLE FINISH – 11th
