According to reports, Intel is getting ready to launch its lineup of desktop CPUs called Bartlett Lake-S. This serves as an upgrade, to their existing LGA 1700 platforms. Further information from Benchlife provides insights into this CPU family.
More About the Intel Bartlett Lake-S Desktop CPUs
It’s worth noting that while the Intel Bartlett Lake-S is a successor to the Raptor Lake-S (Refresh) family it shares some similarities with its predecessor while also introducing differences. The main focus of this CPU family is on Network & Edge applications within Intel’s NEX business segment. Initially, it will be targeted towards this sector before considering a release for DIY users.
The anticipated features of the Intel Bartlett Lake-S Desktop CPU family include up to 24 cores and 32 threads, which aligns with the specifications of high-end chips like the Core i9 14900K and Core i9 13900K.
However, there are indications of variants that exclusively offer P Cores with one potential variant boasting up to 12 P Cores. These models featuring P Cores could provide advantages and would mark Intel’s first chip, on their mainstream consumer platform exceeding 8 P Cores. Currently, both the 14900K and 13900K are limited to 8 P Cores.
Moreover, there are reports indicating AI capabilities that could be facilitated by AI accelerators. However, the major advancements are anticipated to come with Arrow Lake-S in 2024. It remains uncertain whether these enhancements, in AI performance are a result of a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) or other dedicated AI hardware cores onboard. Intel had previously introduced its NPU alongside the Meteor Lake chips creating space for speculation regarding its integration into the Bartlett Lake S CPUs.
Key specifications such as compatibility with the LGA 1700 socket, support for DDR5/DDR4 memory, and the inclusion of the UHD 770 iGPU remain consistent. However, the prospect of a DIY consumer launch for the Bartlett Lake-S CPU platform remains unconfirmed, as it has been absent from Intel’s consumer roadmaps. Nevertheless, with a major event on the horizon next month, there’s potential for further details to emerge.
