Both smartphones come equipped with specifications that promise users a cutting-edge experience. Let’s delve into the details and compare these two devices across aspects.

Display

In the display department, both phones offer captivating screens with a punch-hole design. The OnePlus 12R comes with a 6.7-inch display that has a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels, while the Nothing Phone 2 boasts a 6.78-inch screen with the same FHD+ resolution. Both screens have a rate of 120Hz ensuring visuals and responsive touch experiences. However, the Nothing Phone 2 takes a lead in terms of density as it offers sharper images at 439 ppi compared to the OnePlus 12Rs 394 ppi.

Camera

When it comes to photography both smartphones have camera setups. The OnePlus 12R and Nothing Phone 2 share a camera of 50 MP each. Their additional lenses differ. The OnePlus device pairs its camera with another lens of 50 MP while the Nothing Phone 2 features an ultra-wide angle lens of 8 MP and an auxiliary lens of 2 MP. On the side, the OnePlus 12R outshines, with its selfie camera resolution of 32 MP compared to the Nothing Phones front camera at only 16 MP.

Processor

In terms of processing power, the OnePlus 12R is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset whereas the Nothing Phone 2 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Both phones have 8 GB of RAM, which guarantees multitasking and seamless app performance. In terms of the GPU competition the OnePlus 12R is equipped with the Adreno 730 while the Nothing Phone 2 comes with the Adreno 740 – both GPUs are capable of handling demanding graphics with precision and finesse.

Battery

When it comes to battery performance the Nothing Phone 2 takes the lead with its 5500 mAh battery while the OnePlus 12R settles, for a smaller 4700 mAh battery. However, OnePlus makes up for it with its 45W charging capability ensuring a full charge in just 55 minutes. On the other hand, Nothing Phone 2 introduces groundbreaking 100W Super VOOC charging technology although specific charging times are not mentioned.

Design and Software

The OnePlus 12R boasts a back made from Gorilla Glass. It is available, in White and Dark Grey colors. In contrast, while there is no mention of the material used for construction in the case of Nothing Phone 2 it offers a variety of colors including Black, Iron Grey, and Cool Blue. The OnePlus 12R operates on Oxygen OS based on Android v14 while Nothing Phone 2 features its bespoke operating system called Nothing OS built on Android v13.
