Justice Mudgal’s distinguished career includes leading the independent inquiry into allegations of corruption and spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League in 2014, appointed by the Supreme Court. He currently serves as the head of FIFA’s Governance and Review Committee. His illustrious background, coupled with committee members Hockey Legend Aslam Sher Khan and Arjuna Awardee Sushma Golwalkar, instills confidence in the Ethics and Governance Committee (EGC). The EGC will oversee the maintenance of high standards for the game and monitor issues related to governance, anti-corruption, anti-doping, and more.

The second edition of the league will see six teams – Chennai Quick Guns, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Khiladis, Odisha Juggernauts, Rajasthan Warriors, and Telugu Yoddhas – backed by top Indian corporate and sports investors, compete for the coveted crown. A total of 145 players from across the country will showcase their skills at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Cuttack, with the final set to be played on January 13, 2024.
