iQOO Neo 9 Pro and Neo 9 Set for China Launch: Confirmed Date and Features

iQOO has officially announced the imminent launch of its iQOO Neo 9 series smartphones in China. The smartphone manufacturer, a subsidiary of Vivo, has been gradually revealing details about the device on Weibo over the past few weeks. The upcoming Neo 9 series will feature two models: iQOO Neo 9 and iQOO Neo 9 Pro.

According to a recent report from 91Mobiles, iQOO will also introduce the iQOO Watch and iQOO TWS 1e at the launch event. The date of the Neo 9 series debut has been disclosed through a teaser video, showcasing the smartphone’s color options and design. The event is scheduled for December 27 in China, beginning at 7 PM (UTC + 8), and will be available for live streaming on the dedicated microsite.

The teaser further reveals that the Neo 9 series will be offered in black and blue color variants, along with a dual-tone option featuring Red and White leather inserts. Additionally, iQOO is providing incentives for pre-booked customers, including a Bluetooth speaker, a 30-day return or exchange policy, and an exchange bonus.

iQOO has confirmed that the Neo 9 Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, coupled with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The Pro model will also feature the Q1 Supercomputing chip, previously utilized in the iQOO 12 5G flagship smartphone for enhanced gaming performance.

The upcoming smartphones will incorporate the Blue Heart AI, which debuted with the Vivo S18 series. Running on Origin OS 4 based on Android 14, the Neo 9 series devices are expected to support 120W fast charging, evident from their 3C certifications, and boast a substantial 5160mAh battery with an integrated power management chip.

The devices will likely feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, complemented by an in-display fingerprint scanner and an IR blaster for added functionality. The vanilla iQOO Neo 9 will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and offer configurations of up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Its dual rear camera setup is rumored to consist of a 50MP Sony IMX 920 sensor paired with a secondary 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide shooter, a setup also seen in Vivo’s recent S18 and X100 series smartphones.
