Next-Gen Renault Duster Global Premiere: Anticipated India Launch in 2025

The third-generation Renault Duster has made its global debut, boasting a fresh appearance and enhanced features. Internationally known as the Dacia Duster, users in India will have to exercise patience, as the SUV is scheduled for launch in India by Diwali 2025. The latest Duster showcases a sharper aesthetic with significant modifications throughout its design.

Notable features include distinctive Y-shaped lighting elements at the front and rear. The bonnet presents a flat, sculpted profile, complementing the SUV’s robust character. The full-width grille incorporates the headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs), with other eye-catching design elements flanking the Duster logo at the center.

The Upcoming Next-Gen Renault Duster

The refreshed bumper includes vertical air vents, and circular fog lamp housings adorn the edges. Notably, the lower grille features a unique and attractive bull-bar design. The side profile stands out with prominent squared-off wheel arches, new blacked-out alloy wheels, and functional roof rails.

Retaining the signature tapering rear quarter glass from the previous generation, the third-gen Renault Duster boasts a refreshing and distinctive new look that effortlessly captures attention. Given the similarity in equipment across most rival compact SUVs, the appealing design is anticipated to play a pivotal role in influencing user decision-making.

It is expected that Nissan will also introduce its version of the Duster, with a 7-seat variant likely to be marketed as the Bigster. The international market will offer the new-gen Duster with three powertrain options. These include an entry-level 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 120 hp, a 1.2-litre petrol hybrid engine generating 140 hp, and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine with an impressive 170 hp. This particular engine can run on ethanol-mix fuel in higher trims, making it the most powerful engine ever utilized in the Duster.

In the Indian market, the third-gen Renault Duster is anticipated to feature a robust 170 hp engine. Renault has expressed consideration for introducing plug-in hybrid and strong hybrid versions for the Indian market, providing an experience akin to a diesel powertrain. Notably, the third-gen Duster will not offer a diesel powertrain option. The Renault Duster, credited with popularizing the compact SUV segment in India, faces new challenges in a segment crowded with various competitive options.

When launched in India, the third-gen Duster will compete with vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor. Additionally, upcoming models like the Tata Curvv and Mahindra XUV500 Coupe will introduce new competition to the segment.
