Jadon Sancho is linked with Manchester United from the very first day of this transfer window. The Red Devils were negotiating with Borussia Dortmund for a long time but haven’t yet to come to a full agreement.
Borussia Dortmund wants to sell the English winger but not less than €120m which is too much according to the Manchester United board. United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward believes Dortmund has been inconsistent in their attitude towards selling Sancho.
According to The Daily Star, Jadon Sancho is no longer wanted even if United found that €120M.
The Daily Star said, “Woodward knows the clock is ticking before the transfer window closes on October 5 and could now turn to Juventus’ Douglas Costa, Atletico Madrid ace Joao Felix or even pursue a deal to sign Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale.”
Joao Felix joined Atletico Madrid last season for a €126M move from Benfica. It was surely a surprising claim by The Daily Stars. Moreover, he is much more a player of number 10 position than a winger. But his addition will surely upgrade the squad depth.
Douglas Costa was also linked with Manchester United at some stages of this transfer window. The Brazilian is a very talented player and full of skills. But his injury issues are a back-draw in his career. The 29-year-old winger has missed 4 months of the 2019/20 season and 6 months of the 2018/19 season due to various problems including calf and hamstring issues.
Same goes for Wales winger Gareth Bale. He is much more injury-prone than Douglas Costa. There is also a huge salary issue with Gareth Bale. Some reports in Europe claims that his current club Real Madrid would be willing to pay half of his salary to any club willing to buy the winger.
United is going to start their Premier League campaign next week against Crystal Palace at home. This can be a very important week for them to sign some of their targets.
