Erling Haaland breaks record for fewest games to score 50 Premier League goals

Erling Haaland broke yet another record with his goal against Liverpool this weekend, becoming the fastest to score 50 goals in the Premier League. The Manchester City striker only took 48 games to achieve the feat, overtaking Andy Cole, who took 65 games to score his first 50 goals in the English first division.

The match eventually ended in a draw, with Trent Alexander-Arnold scoring the equaliser in the second half to deny the Cityzens a record 23rd straight home win.

The Norwegian has taken the league by storm since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund last summer. In his very first season aged 22, he scored 36 goals, breaking the historic record set by Alan Shearer. And now, with only 13 games played this season, he has scored 14 goals and is on course to winning the Golden Boot for a second straight season.

His time with Borussia Dortmund was also remarkable, with the striker also becoming the fastest to score 50 Bundesliga goals when he was in Germany.

In addition, he has also become the fastest player to score 30 Champions League goals, and could be on course to score well above 100 given his efficiency and consistency. Only time will tell how much more success lies ahead for the Norwegian, but he is slowly establishing himself as one of the top footballers of all-time with every passing game.
