Adelaide United winger Nestory Irankunda is set to join Bayern Munich in 2024, with a deal almost agreed between the two clubs worth £3 million plus add-ons. The youngster is one of the most talented to come out of the A-League and is expected to take a massive step up next summer should Bayern finalise the deal with his club.

He has been strongly praised for his capabilities as a winger, with a keen eye for goal and unparalleled shot power which helps him find the back of the net from tight angles too.

Once the details of the transfer are finalised, Irankunda will become the most expensive Australian player due to his transfer fees. He is expected to be a top talent in the coming years, and at 17, he has a lot of time to elevate himself to the levels demanded at a top club like Bayern.

The Bavarians have had an illustrious history of having elite wingers over the years. In the recent past, it was the partnership of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery which struck fear into the hearts of defenders across the world. Now, a blooming partnership between Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman has helped them retain their status.

It now seems like Bayern are planning for the next generation early with the recruitment of Nestory Irankunda at such a young age. They also have Mathys Tel in their squad, which adds further incentive to believe that the club is planning a few steps ahead to maintain squad depth in attacking positions.
