Al Nassr were able to defeat Al Ettifaq 1-0 after AET in the King’s Cup, with Sadio Mane scoring the match-winner for his side. Both teams finished the game with 10 men, after red cards to Anderson Talisca as well as Ali Hazazi.

Al Nassr will now feature in the quarter finals of the competition and will be hopeful of winning the tournament. However, top teams such as Al Ittihad and Al Hilal still remain even though Al Ahli have been eliminated by Abha.

Talisca thought he had put his side in front shortly before half time, but replays showed that Cristiano Ronaldo was offside in the build-up. And only minutes after the goal was ruled out, the Brazilian was sent off for his outstretched arm hitting an opposition player in the face.

Ronaldo narrowly escaped a red card himself, after screaming in the referee’s face and then asking for him to be replaced. The veteran was unable to provide a lot of attacking output for Al Nassr, leaving it late to Mane to win the game.

With only four shots on target each, the match was tightly contested and ultimately decided on fine margins. In spite of having more possession, Ronaldo’s side could not create as many opportunities but finished on the right side of the scoreline.
