After a long suspended period because of Covid-19, football is finally going to be back in India. Every team is already planning to uplift their strengths.
New-season of the Indian Super League will start from November in Goa. The games will be played behind the close doors because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The matches will be played in three different venues in Goa. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, the Tilak Nagar Stadium in Vasco da Gama, and the GMC Athletic Stadium in Bambolim are the three venues slated to host the matches with strict training and social distancing protocols later this year.
The final of the last season between ATK and Chennaiyin FC was held at Fatorda in March behind closed doors due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The kick-off of the new season will also start in the same stadium in the same manner.
All the other dates of ISL have been revealed now. All the teams will arrive in Goa within September 25-30. Teams will be in quarantine for 14 days there and the pre-season will start on the 10th of October. There will be some friendly matches between ISL teams as well. Clubs Captain Forum will be done on October 15. Squad registration will be completed within 23rd October. ISL coaches forum is on 2nd November. The new ISL season will kick-off from 20-23rd November.
From this season it will be an 11-teams league. A new team will be added. The name will be announced in a few days. According to multiple reports, this will be Kolkata giant East Bengal FC.
Other than East Bengal, another Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan FC has already merged with defending champion ATK and will play this year in ISL as ATK Mohun Bagan FC. This merger helps both the party to grow as a team in different aspects.
Hyderabad FC also tied up with European giant Borussia Dortmund recently and also changed their head-coach recently. All the other team are also busy in making their team better and preparing to lift the trophy this season.
The addition of teams with their glorious history will surely increase the beauty of this league. All the football lovers in India are eagerly waiting for the kick-off of the season.
