The new Far Cry Game along with Far Cry 7 is reportedly in Development

According to a fresh report, Ubisoft is working on a second Far Cry game in addition to the already disclosed Far Cry 7. Far Cry is still one of Ubisoft’s most successful franchises, so it’s no surprise that new instalments are on the way. Fans should take these rumours with a grain of salt, although they have come from a source that has previously proven to be fairly dependable.

Insider Gaming previously revealed the existence of Far Cry 7, alleging that the new game will be released in 2025 and will use Massive Entertainment’s Division games and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s Snowdrop technology. According to the source, Far Cry 7 would introduce big changes to the established Far Cry formula, with players racing against the clock to save their kidnapped family members from a violent group known as the Sons of Truth. According to the source, family members can be saved in any order, but they can also be killed, which changes the outcome of the story.

Apart from Far Cry 7, we might be getting a new project from the franchise

The other Far Cry game, according to the rumor, is a multiplayer extraction shooter codenamed Project Maverick. It features classic Far Cry gameplay, with players able to build new gear and useful things from resources gathered in the game world. The upcoming Far Cry game will allegedly include a headquarters where players may stow stuff for safekeeping, but the game’s permadeath mechanic means that if they die, they will lose everything.

According to the Insider Gaming source, the Far Cry multiplayer game is situated in a fictional version of Alaska and will most likely be launched before Far Cry 7, with April 2025 as a possible release month. Fans should wait for official word from Ubisoft before getting too excited about the prospect of a Far Cry extraction shooting game, but nothing in the Insider Gaming article appears outrageous.
