While Neeraj Chopra aims to break the 90-meter mark and challenge the world record in the senior category currently held by Zan Železný at an astonishing 98.48 meters, there’s a different world record that India proudly holds.

Sumit Antil’s World Record Triumph

Sumit Antil, the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics gold medalist and the 2023 World Championships winner, etched his name in the record books. He holds the world record in men’s para javelin in the F64 category with an astounding best throw of 70.83 meters, achieved earlier this year at the World Championships in Paris.

In 2019, at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Italy, Sumit Antil not only shattered the world record in the F64 category but also clinched a silver medal in the Combined Event. This achievement was just a glimpse of his incredible potential.

On August 30, 2021, Sumit Antil scripted history by clinching a gold medal with a World Record throw of 68.55 meters in javelin throw F64 at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
