Barcelona youngsters Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde have signed their new contracts with the club. The two players were never quite at risk of leaving this summer, in spite of having contracts from the youth academy.
And now, both players have signed a new deal, with a salary hike that reflects their contribution to the team. Balde has signed a contract until 2028, being 19 years old. As Yamal is only 16 years old, he has signed a contract until 2026 since it is the maximum limit for a player of his age. Both deals should be announced very soon, since the signing already took place before Barcelona’s preseason tour.

Balde has taken over the left-back position since the departure of Jordi Alba at the end of last season. The youngster is now expected to stay on as one of the key defenders in Xavi’s squad for the coming years.
On the other hand, Lamine Yamal has been breaking records every week. The forward recently became the youngest debutant and goalscorer for the Spanish national team. He is also the youngest player for Barcelona and their youngest goalscorer.
Both players are expected to have a bright future and join the likes of Gavi, Ronald Araujo and Ansu Fati to have come through the academy to form the next generation of first team players.
