Google is gearing up for the launch of its Pixel 8 series, comprising the standard Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which is scheduled for October 4. Ahead of the official unveiling, the tech giant based in California has given us a glimpse of the smartphone’s design. Google has also hinted at the release of other devices on the same day, possibly the Pixel Watch 2 and new Pixel Buds Pro. The company has also revealed the launch date for the earbuds, smartwatch, and upcoming Pixel 8 series.
The Upcoming Pixel 8 Series, Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds
Several weeks before the launch event, Google has provided a sneak peek of the products set to debut on October 4. An intriguing teaser video shared on X by Made by Google (@madebygoogle) has unveiled the forthcoming Pixel Watch 2 and the new Pixel Buds Pro, in addition to the Pixel 8 series. Both the smartwatch and earphones will be available in at least one Porcelain color variant, as highlighted in the video.
In a separate teaser video posted by Made by Google, the company has officially revealed the design of the forthcoming Pixel 8 series. As per reports, the Pixel 8 is expected to feature a Tensor G3 chip, Android 14, a 4,485mAh battery with 24W wired charging, and a camera setup consisting of a 50MP + 12MP primary lens and a 10.8MP selfie camera. Turning to the Pixel 8 Pro, this device is likely to come equipped with a Tensor G3 CPU, Android 14, a 4,950mAh battery with 27W wired charging, a 50MP primary lens, a 64MP ultra-wide lens, a 48MP zoom lens, and a 10.8MP front-facing camera.
The Pixel 8 Pro is anticipated to debut in at least one Porcelain White color variant, as evident from the video. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 is confirmed to offer a Pink color option, in addition to other color choices. Furthermore, the same video also announces that pre-orders for both smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, will commence on October 4. The launch event is scheduled to start at 10 AM ET (7:30 PM IST) on October 4. Although Google has yet to reveal the official sale date for the Pixel 8 series smartphones and other devices, they are expected to become available within the first half of October 2023.
