Just one week remains until Apple’s iPhone 15 “Wonderlust”, and a new rumor surfaced that claims the iPhone 15 Pro will cost more than its predecessor. This time, the supply chain news source, DigiTimes has the scoop, and it cites two main causes for the move.

All You Need to Know about iPhone 15 Pro Price Hike

Senior analyst Luke Lin at DigiTimes Research believes that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will cost the same as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, however, cannot be viewed as being identical.

The transition from stainless steel to titanium for the body design and the new periscope lens camera system, according to Lin, will result in a “major price hike” for the iPhone 15 Pro series this year. Lin DigiTimes still believes that the iPhone 15 Pro variants will be the most well-liked phones from this generation despite the price rises.

With the “highest share” of supply chain orders to date, Apple is concentrating on ramping up manufacturing of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in anticipation of its rising popularity.

The new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will cost more than their iPhone 14 equivalents, and this is by no means the first time fans heard that. Both Bloomberg and analysts from Barclays have frequently written about Apple’s plans. The exact extent of the price increase is still uncertain.

The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro, will sell for $1,099 and is priced $100 more than the iPhone 14 Pro. The 15 Pro Max, on the other hand, is expected to start at $1,299, making it around $200 more costlier than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

During Apple’s Q1 2023 earnings call, Tim Cook may have made a suggestion about the company’s intentions to raise the price of the iPhone 15 Pro.

“iPhone contains their contacts, their health information, their banking information, their smart home, and so many different parts of their lives, their payment vehicle, and — for many people,” Cook remarked at the time. “Therefore, I believe that people are willing to really stretch to get the best item in that category that they can afford.”

Let’s see if Apple has the courage to raise the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max by about 20%; however, in less than a week, everyone will find out for certain. On September 12, Apple is anticipated to reveal its iPhone 15 lineup. The iPhone 15 series will be put on sale on September 22 after pre-orders begin on September 15.
